Dinosaur fossils and mudflood: 3 calculations

The past left more than bones.

A skeleton can be a cast. An old doorway can sit below the street. Organic traces can survive inside a fossil. Each fact deserves an explanation before it becomes a new history of Earth.

The skeleton made in a workshop

The observation

Museums display casts beside original dinosaur fossils, and reconstructed mounts can include modeled missing bones.

The claim

The reproductions reveal that dinosaurs were invented.

The finding

A cast copies a fossil; it does not replace the original evidence. Collection records distinguish excavated material from reproductions, and original fossils remain available for study. The display and the specimen are different objects.

The city that raised its streets

The observation

Some old Chicago buildings sit below the surrounding street level.

The claim

A buried ground floor is evidence of a worldwide mudflood.

The finding

Chicago deliberately raised streets to improve drainage and accommodate sewers. Owners could raise their buildings too, but some did not. The uneven levels preserve a documented engineering project, not evidence of a global burial event.

Organic traces inside stone

The observation

Researchers have recovered soft-tissue structures and evidence of proteins from dinosaur fossils.

The claim

Such remains mean the fossils must be recent.

The finding

Experiments show that iron can help stabilize tissue components, offering a preservation mechanism. Finding preserved organic material is a question about fossil chemistry; it does not, by itself, supply a younger age for the rock.
